- Gov. Chris Christie -- in a bit of counter-programming, as well a quick start out of the gates after Labor Day -- holds a town-hall meeting at Packanack Lake Country Club in Wayne, the first in what his office says will be a series, to unveil his agenda for the coming weeks and months.
- Christie opens the day doing a cable TV news tour -- 'Morning Joe' on MSNBC at 7 a.m., 'Imus in the Morning' on Fox Business Network at 7:30 a.m. and 'Fox & Friends' on Fox News at 8 a.m.
